Deb Leichsenring is the Executive Director of Miracles in Motion, a position that encompasses many varied roles. Among her tasks in managing and leading a center like Miracles are administrative duties, student placement in classes, maintenance of a 77-acre farm and center, and care for the felines and equines. Growing up in Chicago, Deb’s love of horses began by spending time with the palominos her cousin raised. Deb later moved to Amana and lived on a farm very close to the Miracles farm for 20 years. Before Miracles, Deb was a merchant, buyer, and then owner for a business in Amana. She spent 20 years as a district and project manager for several corporations in the US and Canada. She also had time to volunteer and organize events for several non-profits. She currently lives in Cedar Rapids. Deb enjoys the positive change she feels working at Miracles and remarks that the students, staff, volunteers, and horses are truly amazing. Seeing what happens in the arena makes working at Miracles the best job in the world, according to Deb. She feels she is fortunate to be able to combine her passion of helping people and animals in a career that makes a difference in so many lives and says she cannot imagine doing anything else. When Deb is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two children, seven grandchildren, and her many friends.
